166. "Man Heart" & Calculated Courage

Marisol asks Adam how he can both be open, venerable, and brave and at the same time have "man-heart" and send thumbs up emojis. Adam describes his experience with holding emotional boundaries, figuring out when and where he can have calculated courage and when he can shut off and compartmentalize for his own wellbeing. The couple discus how all of the hurt in the world, all of their personal hurt, and the weight of everyday things can pile on and become heartbreaking. Maybe practicing some "man-heart" can keep us all from feeling that heartbreak just a little less, so that we can save up our vulnerability to use on the things that matter most?

These days Marisol and Adam are raising a toddler, navigating the surrogate process to add to their family, and starting the egg retrieval/IVF process again after a miscarriage.
